Currently my favorite medium is wool felt. It can be colorful & so versatile. It is incredibly strong & durable yet also lightweight. It is a natural product but unlike with leather, no animals are killed in harvesting it. Wool Felt can be washed and naturally repels moisture so it dries quickly. My recycled products reuse wool so it is even better for the world and environment.
You can't get more "designer" than my bags. No two are exactly alike. Each one is hand made. Some I knit and "full", which is a term for felting or shrinking the item. Some I sew from recycled or "upcycled" wool which I also full. Some I "felt" from roving (cleaned, combed wool). Sometimes I dye it to get the colors I want. I also make other accessories and I embellish my pieces with beads, buttons, embroidery, applique and needle felting. I use what ever technique that will give it the look and design I am striving for.
